The "File Menu" consists of the functions that are related to the files. When the editing area didn't not contain any text, some of the functions are disabled (Grey items in Fig.1), but as soon as you typed a character into the editing area, all the functions will be enabled again (Fig.2).
New (Ctrl + N)
This will let you to
create a new document.
Open (Ctrl + O)
The above dialog will
appear for you to choose which file you want to open. Choose the file type in
the combo box to indicate which file type you want to open.
Save (Ctrl + S)
This will let you to save changes
into a existing file. If there is no file specified, a Save Dialog will appear
that will ask for a file name.
Save As (Ctrl + Alt + S)
This will let you to save the
document into a new file name.
Print Setup (Ctrl + Alt + R)
This will let you to change
the printer configurations.
Print (Ctrl + P)
This will let you print the
document from the printer that you have specified in the print dialog box.
Print Preview (Ctrl + Alt + P)
This will let you to preview
the document before it print out.
Send Mail (Ctrl + Alt + M)
This will let you to send your
document to other people through e-mail. This require e-mail software package
installed in your computer, for example, Outlook Express.
Exit (Ctrl + F4) or (Alt + F4)
This will exit the program.
